1/4 Cup Shortening
1 Cup Brown Sugar, firmly-packed
1/2 Cup Strong, Watkins Coffee
1-1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour, sifted
1 teas. Watkins Baking Powder
1/4 teas. Baking Soda
1/2 teas. Salt
1-1/4 teas. Watkins Cinnamon
1/2 Cup Raisins
1/2 Cup Almonds or Hazelnuts, chopped
Frosting:
1 Cup Powdered Sugar, sifted
1/4 teas. Salt
1/2 teas. Watkins Vanilla Extract
2 Tbsp. Milk
Spray a 9 x 13 inch baking pan with Watkins Cooking Spray. Mix shortening, brown sugar and coffee together. Mix in another bowl flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Blend in to sugar mixture then add raisins and nuts. Put in pan and then bake in 350 degree oven for approx. 20 minutes. Cool then cut into bars.
For frosting, mix together powdered sugar and salt. Add vanilla and milk while stirring then spread frosting over cooled bars. Makes 12 to 15 servings.
