Ginger Bars

1 Cup Shortening
1 Cup Sugar
2 Eggs
1 Cup Water
1/2 Cup Molasses
2 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
1 teas. Baking Soda
1 teas. Watkins Cinnamon
1/2 teas. Watkins Ground Cloves
1/2 teas. Watkins Ginger
1/2 teas. Salt

In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs; beat well. Beat in water and molasses. Combine flour,baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and salt; add to molasses mixture and mix well. Spread into a greased 15x10 baking pan. Bake at 350 for 20-22 minutes until bars test done. Cool. If desired sprinkle with powdered sugar
