1 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
1 teas. Watkins Black Pepper
1 teas. Watkins Poultry Seasoning
1 teas. Watkins Chicken Soup Base
1 teas. Watkins Paprika
1/4 teas. Watkins Cayenne (Red) Pepper
2 Chickens (3 lbs. each) cut into serving pieces
2 teas. Watkins Seasoning Salt
1/2 Cup Watkins Original Grapeseed Oil
1/4 Cup Butter
For the crispiest chicken, use a cast iron skillet. In a large plastic or brown paper bag combine flour, black pepper, poultry seasoning, chicken soup base, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Sprinkle chicken on all sides with the seasoning salt; shake chicken pieces in the seasoned flour and lay on waxed paper while oil is heating. In 12 inch skillet, heat oil and butter over medium-high heat until hot. Carefully add chicken, skin side down; cook until golden brown, about 10 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels. (Keep warm if desired.) Repeat with remaining chicken. Serve hot or at room temperature. Makes 8 servings.
