1 Cup / 250 mL Vegetable
Shortening
1 Cup / 250 mL Brown Sugar
1 Cup / 250 mL Granulated Sugar
2 Eggs, beaten
1 Tbsp. / 15 mL Hot Water
1 teas. / 5 mL Hot Water
1 teas. / 5 mL Watkins Original Double Strength
Vanilla Extract
1 teas. / 5 mL Watkins Butter Pecan Extract
1 teas. / 5 mL Watkins Vanilla Nut Extract
1 1/2 Cups / 375 mL All Purpose Flour
1 teas. / 5 mL Baking Soda
1 teas. / 5 mL Salt, if desired
3 Cups / 750 mL Uncooked Rolled Oats
1/2 Cup / 125 mL Chocolate Chips
In large mixing bowl, cream together shortening and sugars. Stir in eggs, water, and extracts. Sift together flour, soda, and salt; beat into mixture. Stir in oats and chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto baking sheet that has been coated with Watkins cooking spray. Bake at 350*F / 180*C for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 7 dozen cookies.
