Southwestern mesquite and chile flavor this delicious roast.
One 2 1/2 to 3 Lb. / 1.2 to 1.3
kg Turkey Breast Half
1 Tbsp. / 15 ml Watkins Chili Powder
2 teas. / 10 ml Watkins Garlic Granules
1 teas. / 5 ml Freshly Ground Watkins Sea Salt
1/2 Cup / 125 ml Apple Jelly
2 Tbsp. / 30 ml Watkins Mesquite Barbecue Sauce
Concentrate
Rub surface of turkey breast with chili powder, garlic granules and salt. Insert meat thermometer in thickest portion. Place in roasting pan and bake at 350 F / 180 C for 1 hour. Melt apple jelly along with barbecue sauce. Brush top of turkey breast with part of apple jelly mixture. Continue to bake, basting occasionally with apple jelly mixture, until thermometer registers 180 F / 80 C. Remove from oven, cover with foil and let stand 20 minutes before slicing. Slice roast and place on serving platter. Defat pan drippings, if desired, and serve with roast. (Makes 8 servings)
