Tomato Soup Cake

2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
1 1/3 Cups Sugar
4 teas. Watkins Baking Powder
1 teas. Baking Soda
1 1/2 teas. Watkins Allspice
1 teas. Watkins Cinnamon
1/2 teas. Watkins Ground Cloves
1 Can (10 3/4 ounce) Campbell's Condensed Tomato Soup
1/2 Cup Shortening
2 Eggs
1/4 Cup Water

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. With mixer at low speed, beat until well mixed, constantly scrapping bowl with rubber spatula. At high speed, beat 4 minutes, occasionally scraping the bowl. Pour into prepared pans. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans on wire racks minutes. Remove from pans; cool completely. Frost with your favorite cream cheese frosting if desired....or just dust with powdered sugar!

Try: Add 1 cup raisins and/or 1 cup walnuts to the batter. (optional)
