Ron & Patsi Humphrey
The summer of 2002 found us on the road, working with friends who sell pizza at
festivals and fairs all over the country. Early in the season, we were at the Steamboat
Days in Winona, Minnesota.
We noticed that all the restaurants there had Watkins pepper on the table. We
immediately tasted a distinct difference in Watkins pepper from all others. I
remembered that my mom had used Watkins vanilla and cinnamon, when I was kid growing
up. A couple of weeks later, at a county fair in Nebraska, a friend bought a can of pepper
at a booth that was set up there. From then on, we carried that pepper into restaurants
with us. My wife later saw a booth at the Minnesota State Fair and was surprised at the
large selection of products that were in the Watkins line. She too remembered her mom
using Watkins products. She said her mom not only used the vanilla, pepper and cinnamon,
but also had a full range of Watkins spices in her cabinets.
I checked the internet for places where we
could buy some Watkins pepper. I found several different sites, as well as the main
Watkins site. My wife and I talked about it and decided that we might just explore the
idea of becoming a Watkins man. I researched several websites and different
groups, requested information, and left e-mail messages at several sites. We have been a
part of several different network marketing companies in the past and we had come to
realize that who your sponsor is and the amount of help that they give you makes a world
of difference in your business.
We gauged the responses that we received and
asked several to contact us. We interviewed several by phone, asking questions
about their business and their groups. Several were a part of a larger group that was set
up as a training network. There was one website that we were really impressed with and
interested in the program that they had set up. We left messages that we had a few
questions and wanted to be contacted, but have yet to receive a response. We also noticed
that the webpage had not been updated in quite some time. We concluded that this was not
someone that we wanted as a sponsor.
We ultimately chose to be sponsored into
Watkins by Dan & Linda Sikut. We were very impressed with Lindas website, the
Rising Stars group, and the personalized coaching. The six-week coaching program that
Linda went through with us was fantastic. We made Manager our third month with Watkins. I
truly didnt expect our business to grow that fast and was pleasantly surprised that
Watkins products sold so well. Our sales continue to increase, just by networking everyday
with people we see and do business with.
We are continually learning different
techniques for promoting the products and the business opportunity. Our experience with
Watkins and Lindas team has been great and we have learned so much. Linda and Dan is
the type of sponsor that we would like to model ourselves after.
